Augie March Announce Melbourne Christmas Shows; Tix On Sale Tomorrow

It's been a big year for Augie March. From January, when their song 'One Crowded Hour' ("...a contender for song of the decade..." - Iain Shedden, The Australian) came in a surprise #1 on Triple J's massive Hottest 100 countdown, to February when their album 'Moo, You Bloody Choir' took out the prestigious Australian Music Prize, to a sold-out national tour in March and April, to winning Song of the Year at the APRA Awards in June as voted by 33,000 Australian songwriters.

And then spending the rest of the year touring North America three times, winning over the music media, industry and a growing army of fans.

BUT! Now it's time for some home-town fun. As has become tradition, the Augies will be playing a couple of rather special Christmas shows in Melbourne.

The dates are Thursday 20 and Friday 21 December, at The Hi-Fi Bar and Ballroom, scene of some of their greatest triumphs. Expect the band to delve deep into their rich back catalogue and pull out some rarely-played gems, plus a ton of 'Bloody Moo' - some done medium-rare - and a cover or two.

These are the band's only headline shows in Melbourne for at least a year, as they will soon be back to the US and then into the studio to record their fourth long-player.
