Bernard Zuel writing in the Sydney Morning Herald had these nice things to say about it recently:
"Glenn Richards is a sublime songwriter. In two albums with his Melbourne ensemble Augie March he has wrought songs of literary depth and musical imagination which deserve the kind of attention we have recently been giving the like of Arcade Fire, the Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens and Wilco. With Richards, when you say there's a touch of the old days in his songwriting, you don't mean the 60's or even the 40's. For example the third track on this mini album Narraconia, could be an ancient seafarers ballad and LJ's Third Summer in Heaven has a touch of old slave field song beneath its early Eno languor. These seven songs have a rough-hewn feel to hem because they are essentially demos filling the gap until the third Augie March album later this year. If that album doesn't need songs as gut wrenchingly moving as Bottle Baby (which is equal parts Bob Dylan/ Tim Hardin and Celtic Bones) or the Tim Buckley-ish The Making Of A Bum, it will be very fine indeed".
